Romance of the Old Sails

On September 14, the Museum of the World Ocean starts a new multimedia project titled Romance of the Old Sails.

It should seem a simple touch table but it has become a sort of a guide to an amazing and colourful world of centenary sailing vessels. Forty-four photographs by German photography artist Herbert Howe are devoted to old yachts having the centuries-old history. They are still alive and furrow the Baltic Sea every year challenging both wind and time.

This slideshow is a unique chance for every guest to “steer” a tall ship and make a voyage albeit a virtual one.
Several dozens of yachts from various European countries have been gathered in one place for a month only. But we hope that this period of time is enough to dive into the atmosphere of sea romance and feel salt breeze.

Enjoy your voyage!
