Ports on the current territory of the Museum of the World ocean had been built since the XVII century. They were often reconstructed, they burned and changed. The warehouses where “Maritime Koenigsberg-Kaliningrad” and “Packgaus” are located appeared in the XIX century; presumably a harbor wall and a cobblestone pavement appeared at the same time. The railway bridge was built in the middle of the XIX century and still exists. The buildings and the territory along the Pregol were damaged during the WWII, but then were restored by the museum. Nowadays the buildings with the harbor wall, the cobblestone pavement, the railway bridge and open-air expositions resemble a corner of the middle of the XIX century. The expositions and the ship of the XIX century found in a sandpit of the Yantar plant are located in “Maritime Koenigsberg-Kaliningrad” and various exhibitions are demonstrated in “Packgaus”. The archives proved that in the XVIII-XIX centuries Kant’s path lay on the present territory of the Museum of the World ocean. In his declining years he liked to visit this area and watch old Koenigsberg port’s life. “If you want to see the whole world you should not leave Koenigsberg, it is enough to visit the port and see it!” the famous professor told. And you have an opportunity to go along the famous path and sit on the Kant’s bench.
