INVESTIGATION OF THE VARIABILITY OF NEAR-SURFACE METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS IN THE BALTIC SEA

As it is known, the Baltic Sea is strongly changeable natural object. The forming or full transformation of air masses are rarely processes above the territory of Baltic region. In general, the weather is determined by an air mass advection. The prevalent processes above the sea are a zonal type of atmospheric circulation with a high cyclonic activity and the west-east Atlantic air mass transport. The small sea dimensions are determinative general features for annual wind variations over all area of water. At the same time, there are some local wind features provided by meridional prolongation of the Baltic and the ambient space relief. In general, the local measured meteorological parameters are representative for current climatic atmospheric processes on the Baltic for same period in total. The local wind characteristics above the investigated area can be used for research of the forming conditions of thermohaline structure of coastal water.
