Svetlana Sivkova, director general of the Museum of the World Ocean, and Larisa Zubina, deputy director general for science, were awarded the
State Prizes at the ceremony in the Government of the Kaliningrad region.
Governor Anton Alikhanov awarded director general Svetlana Sivkova with the title ‘Honorary Citizen of the Kaliningrad Region’. The decision was made at the meeting of the Kaliningrad Regional Duma. According to Anton Alikhanov, the Museum of the World Ocean is one of the leading institutions shaping a cultural image of the Kaliningrad region. Russia’s maritime heritage is our national honor and glory and future generations’ pride. Thanks to Ms Sivkova the museum solves tasks on heritage preservation and development at a very high level. Deputy director general for science Larisa Zubina was awarded with the Second Class Civilian Medal of the Order ‘For Merit to the Fatherland’. Ms Zubina has worked at the museum since 2001 and now she is a leader of a work group for the permanent exhibition at the Planet Ocean complex to be opened in 2021-2022.
The governor expressed his congratulations to the awardees and wished good health, wellbeing and new achievements.
